Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

—John 1:12

Vision

As a Christian community, we:

  • Profess faith in God as our Creator, and interweave God’s infallible Word — the Old and the New Testaments — into the teaching of all subjects.
  • Acknowledge Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, and affirm Christ as Lord in all areas of life.
  • Believe the Holy Spirit is working among us, and encourage each student to discover his or her unique gifts and respond to God’s guidance.

Guiding Principles

Maintain a Christ-centered focus

  • Recognize that BCA is Christ’s school and that all school activities are to glorify God.
  • Nurture students’ spiritual growth through prayer, worship, and Bible study so they learn to apply Biblical principles to their lives.
  • Encourage students to develop a fervent love for the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to serve Him throughout their lives.

Provide excellent academics

  • Recognize each student’s uniqueness, and challenge students to fully develop the spiritual, intellectual, artistic, and physical gifts God has given them.
  • Balance teaching of basic skills with units that incorporate many subject areas.
  • Guide students toward a Christian worldview by integrating faith into academic subjects.

Partner with parents in a Christian community

  • Involve parents to actively participate in the education of their children and ensure open communication between parents and teachers.
  • Provide opportunities for parents to serve in the day-to-day operation, success, and promotion of the school.
  • Build a caring community recognized for loving God and loving our neighbor as ourselves.

Our Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is the only and final rule of faith and practice.

We believe in the Trinity: God existing in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Deity, the Virgin Birth Perfection, the Substitutionary Death, and the Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the Personality and work of the Holy Spirit; that He restrains evil and that He manifests the Son to man.

We believe that all men everywhere are totally depraved.

We believe that salvation is solely by the Grace of God, purchased by the blood of Christ at Calvary.

We believe in the perseverance and the preservation of the saints.

We believe in baptism by immersion and a saved church membership and that the ordinances are to be administered by the church to believers only.

We believe in the Great Commission as a command given to the Local Church.

We believe in the personal, imminent, pre-tribulational and pre-millennial return of Christ: that He will come first for His saints and then to rule the world.

We believe in Heaven, the place of eternal bliss for the righteous, and in hell, the place prepared for the devil, his angels, and those that are lost forever.

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one's gender by surgery or appearance. (Gen. 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13; Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1: 26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4)

We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10; Eph. 5:22-23)

BCA has a history of outstanding academic achievement. We attribute this to several key components of our daily school life:

  • effective prayer,
  • teaching the whole child,
  • an enriching curriculum,
  • exceptional teachers,
  • strong parental involvement,
  • our thorough focus on God in all areas of study, and a recognition that strong faith and academic excellence complement each other.

We had a chance to watch the newly released Indoctrination DVD - Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America... stunning! It made us completely re-evelaute how our children are being educated and desire a situation where our Christian values are accepted and upheld and taught. We checked out other Christian schools in the area - one just being too expensive for our budget and a couple of others that only went through some elementary grades and another that had the view they were prepping the students for the public system. We have happily landed at BCA and are more than thrilled with the teachers, the teaching. - submitted by parent, Greatschools.com

We are excited to be part of Baldwinsville Christian Academy - the academics are the strongest we've seen while teachers work with students and each is impressed to strive for their best, the atmosphere is wonderful and students are taught how to live in today's world in practical ways, there's a lot of exciting things happening and the school is progressing in all areas. We've checked other schools and proud to be enrolled at BCA! Submitted by a parent, GreatSchools.com

"Some of the core principles that we wanted this school to embrace were first of all the concept that our world belongs to God, that everything that we do and learn and teach is a gift from God and reflects our life of gratitude to God. We also wanted the school to strive for academic excellence, because that is one way that we live out our gratitude. We wanted the school to be welcoming to a diverse range of families from different congregations and denominations, and we wanted the school to be parent governed and democratic in that process." BCA parent,

Philosophy of Christian Education
Proverbs 1:2-7, Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Christian education is something that concerns all of us at Baldwinsville Christian Academy, whether we are teachers or parents. Seeking a good Christian school in which you can place your children has been something that you have spent your time and resources carefully considering. Very often there are many different opinions and philosophies that schools have on this vital subject. Here at Baldwinsville Christian Academy, our philosophy of education is built on the foundation of God’s authoritative Word. We believe that for any education to be called “Christian,” it must have the Bible as its base. Upon that base, we build a foundation that focuses on several key areas.

• A Christian World View — every subject that we teach must be completely integrated with a Biblical world view. A proper understanding of man and his place in the world is very clearly laid out in the Scriptures and is taught in all the materials that we use.

• Creation vs Evolution — a proper understanding of man and the world begins with the understanding that all that is in existence has been created by the God in the Bible. Our curriculum begins with this understanding as its basis. All subjects are then taught from that frame of reference.

• Biblical Standards — everything that we teach reinforces the standards and principles that the Bible teaches. Integrating these life principles in our teaching of all subject areas is vital for students to understand that the Bible is relevant in all aspects of their lives.

• Academic Standards—any Christian school must have high academic standards. The Bible teaches us that the world tells us about God. The more we understand the world around us and the things that happen in the world, the more we understand about God and His teachings. High academic standards mean that students will be able to thrive in all aspects of their lives in the world in which God has called them to live.

• Heart Development — while academic standards are important—and we strive for the highest standards—developing a child’s heart to follow after God is also a priority. Development of character in an individual is as important as developing an understanding of math, history, etc. Both aspects must be held in balance for education to truly be Christian.

• Developing wise young men and women — this joint goal of Christian education can best be summarized by looking at the wise man/woman in the book of Proverbs. Not only does the wise man have a complete understanding of the world around him, but he has a firm grasp on Biblical standards and how they apply to his life. He has learned the ability to receive instruction (both character and academic instruction), process that instruction, and change the way he thinks and acts because of that instruction.

• Family Based—Christian education is ultimately based in the family. The Bible presents the family as the beginning point where the truth of God is taught to children. Teaching in the family is to be done in the normal course of life, with the goal that children will live the principles and teachings of the Bible. Ultimately, our goal is that our students will take the teaching that they have received and build families of their own, where they teach these same principles to their children in a continuing process.
